The stand is located in the Global Village, where more than 100 exhibitors will be present. Swiss Biotech Day is a European benchmark in the biotech sector, attracting professionals from the global life sciences community. This 2024 edition will once again provide a platform to network, engage in discussions and explore advances in R&D, manufacturing, data management, artificial intelligence and innovative financing.
Links with Switzerland
The delegation led by the Cluster Tecnolóxico Empresarial das Ciencias da Vida and including GalChimia, CZ Vaccines, Bflow, Libera Bio and Diversa Technologies will use the meeting to explore links with Switzerland as a world biotech centre. “We want to be in the places where the future of our sector is being designed, where the latest technologies in the field of life sciences are presented”, highlights the president of Bioga, José Manuel López Vilariño, who points out that Swiss Biotech Day serves to “promote and exchange cross-border investments, learn about public-private collaboration models and explore collaborations in research and development and talent exchange, in addition to advancing in possible business”.
Galician biotech companies and Bioga, next Wednesday, 24th April, will participate in a programme of visits organised by the Swiss Biotechnology Association in collaboration with Switzerland Global Enterprise. They will have the opportunity to get to know the main science centres in Switzerland and to establish contacts with actors in the sector. In particular, they will visit the Novartis Campus in Basel, where the pharmaceutical company is headquartered and employs 7,000 people. It is a state-of-the-art research centre, with forward-looking laboratory models, offices and meeting areas.
They will also visit the Bio-Technopark Schlieren, located in Zurich, on the same day. This internationally renowned technology park is close to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), the University of Zurich and the University Hospital.
