Compañía Española de Algas Marinas S.A. (CEAMSA) has presented in a webinar held on 12 July the FABRINTYSO project which aims to develop a flexible, intelligent and sustainable pilot line for the experimental development of new hydrocolloids of natural origin.
CEAMSA are specialists in texture, providing gelling, thickening and stabilising properties from natural raw materials.
This new line will bridge the gap between experimental validation in the laboratory and subsequent optimal implementation in the production plant.
In this way, the new pilot line is expected to contribute significantly to both process flexibility and the company’s green transition, in order to improve in a disruptive way the traceability and sustainability of the products developed in CEAMSA based on the new requirements brought about by the change of paradigm in the agri-food sector, both at a technological and environmental level.
FABRINTYSO is developed through different stages that will cover 4 fundamental technical objectives:
- To develop the new pilot line so that it has the flexibility to carry out experimental tests of all the company’s product typologies.
- Develop and implement the technologies of the new flexible, intelligent and sustainable line.
- Develop a system for the digitalisation of the new pilot line.
- Develop pilot tests to validate the new technological solutions developed as well as the resulting products and processes.
In addition to the implementation and validation of relevant infrastructures, the project will also include the modelling of the production processes through the digitalisation and advanced analysis of the data using advanced control by means of Artificial Intelligence tools.
CEAMSA products comply with ethical (vegan) and religious (Kosher, Halal) requirements. They are also suitable for fat replacement and gluten-free diets.
About CEAMSA
Compañía Española de Algas Marinas S.A. (CEAMSA) was founded in 1966 as a pioneering company specialising in the production, processing and worldwide marketing of natural hydrocolloids such as carrageenan, pectin, fibre, alginate and locust bean gum, which are characterised by their stabilising, gelling, thickening and texturising properties, among others.
CEAMSA’s firm commitment to continuous innovation has made it a benchmark in R&D&I in its sector. Its 50 years of experience endorse the company’s successful track record, which has enabled it to become a world leader in the production of carrageenan, a natural gelling agent extracted from red algae and whose use is widespread in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, among others.
Its production plants, located in Spain and the Philippines, are based on self-developed technology, conceived to provide a personalised response to market demand worldwide.
From its headquarters in O Porriño, it distributes its products to the 5 continents, offering a personalised service for each client, with customised solutions developed thanks to its own innovation centre.
