On 29 September, AllGenetics will celebrate its 12th anniversary as a major player in the European genomics market.
Founded in 2011 in the business incubator of the Universidade da Coruña, the company has been growing steadily over the years. Now, with a team of 22 employees, the company has become a major player in the fields of high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics in Europe.
At the core of this Spanish biotech company is a committed, united and customer-oriented team. Despite global challenges, the company is on track to post sales growth of around +20% this year. “Our performance in the last year has been outstanding. In 2022 we will exceed one million euros in turnover for the first time,” says Dr. Joaquín Vierna, CEO of the company. In addition, in 2023 the company completely revamped its website, which is now more accessible and shows a greater number of genomic services targeted at different customers: agriculture and livestock, environment, waste management, ecotoxicology and food industries, as well as academic researchers.
Looking ahead, AllGenetics aims to expand its portfolio of genomic services. New services based on third-generation sequencing technologies are being developed. As part of its growth strategy, the company expects to add new team members in 2024, focusing on projects and sales and marketing.
Among AllGenetics’ most demanded services are biodiversity characterisation through high-throughput sequencing, microbial genomics, plant and animal genomics and bioinformatics. With clients in more than 20 countries, AllGenetics develops genomics-based projects for Europe’s leading research centres and universities from its headquarters in Oleiros (A Coruña, Spain).
“At AllGenetics we are particularly proud of our unique corporate culture, which places wellness, commitment and respect as founding principles. This is why we have been able to build an exceptional team that works hard to meet the highest standards of our customers,” adds Dr. Vierna.
AllGenetics won the Galicia Spin-Off Award in 2016 and was distinguished as “SME of the Year” by the Galician Society of Biologists in 2022.
